To celebrate the little lady's 9th birthday we landed in Palm Springs for the week end.....We had so much fun- We hiked an oasis, we visited kitsch dinosaur statues, we went to the Palm Springs Art Museum and also had plenty of chill time by the pool. It was: Perfect time spent together.

As you read this, We are landing in Costa Rica. We will be traveling throughout Costa Rica for the coming 5 weeks....(working too and plugged in). I will be bringing you lots of photos along the way...(actually, I hope at least 1 a day)

A week end in the snow.... Welcome to Big Bear California.....

Speaking of driving, I love the intensity in which the daughter is analyzing the break of the snack before her. Clearly trying to decide who gets what piece....
I am (always) so happy to be home.
I was able to cross yet another to-do off my summer list..... we camped. Although the campground (fly-ground)was a tad butt and infested with very annoying flies... the company was great and we shared some fun.
Pixel fashioned a bow and arrow while Kirstin and I shot cans with a rubber band gun...
And Robert enjoyed a rope swing.....

While I was being absent from this blog journal of sorts. Was it lazy, lack of inspiration? Uninspired in the kitchen? No shortage of inspiration in regards to eating..... I have no excuses.

Recently, the man and I took a day trip to Descanso Gardens. Descanso Gardens is an expansive set of land in Los Angeles just a few miles from Pasadena. The gardens (100 plus acres) offer native plant varieties, Japanese landscape and an impressive fern valley. While walking through the gardens, it is hard to believe that the urban jungle of LA is just over the hill. The gardens are beautiful and offer children a good time as well (an enchanted railroad ride!).
Also on the property is a fancy home that belonged to the owner of the property once upon a time. The home sported some lovely bits of beauty....
You know, this is why I have not been posting for ages.....
The daughter and I went to San Francisco for a day. We were in the area after all. We ate some delicious bits, gross bits and enjoyed a trip through Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum. It was rad and cheesy in all the best ways complete with a human unicorn (Oh Yeah!) and a two headed sheep.
Most of all, I had such a nice time traveling with the girl.
